Ship News

Ship Web Site News

Changed some things around. Made a new sign on the "front page".
I found the other pictures from Battleship Cove and when I find some time they'll be in the pictures page.
I also need to get the other picture of the past events from people and once I get them they'll be up too.
I might change service because xoom has been going slow and I think they won't do images from a remote site.
Well that enought from me, but just one more thing if you want your ship's site linked on this page just e-mail
me at [email protected] and don't forget to sign the guestbook and/or fourm.

Sea Scout Ship Adventure serves the youth of Cape Ann, specifically Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea. It provides them with a nautical training and maritime experience while also having fun. The Ship is open to male and females who are 14 and have graduated into high school or who are 15. Membership can last until age 21 is reached. There are very real advantages to becoming a Sea Scout. For example:
  • Sea Scouts with advanced ratings can enroll in the Navy and Coast Guard as Seamen First Class, instead of Seamen, Recruit.
  • College scholarship money is available.
  • Maritime experiences on the high seas, such as sailing as part of the crew on the Coast Guard's training Tall Ship Eagle are available from time to time.

The Ship's adult leaders: Skipper Tim Robinson, Mate Mark Stefanski, Mate Hugh Ware, and Committee Chairman Barry Pete

The Ship's officers are: Boswain Michael Bushee, Boswain's Mate Dom Giovinco, Yeoman Chris Stanton,
Purser [empty], Storekeeper Lewis Evans, and Specialist [empty]

*Sponsors of the Ship*
are the Gloucester Rotary, the Rockport Rotary, Water Safety Coalition, and Gloucester Adventure, Inc, operator of the famous old fishing schooner "Adventure".

Meetings at held at the Gloucester Coast Guard Station, or on the second floor of the Fitz Hugh Lane House, Harbor Loop, Gloucester, or occasionally aboard the schooner "Adventure"itself.
